Today is our second day in Beijing. It is very cold today. We toured the forbidden city & took a rickshaw ride in a section of the city that is very under developed. We got to go into a home & visit with a family that explained many things about their culture. Very different than where i'm from. Beautiful, sweet people.
We are going to an acrobatic show tonight. That should be interesting. We had to have a break from Chinese food tonight, so we ate at McDonalds. Had to point at the Big Mac on the menu. They couldn't understand a thing I was saying.
3 days until An Zhen.
You need to learn "will you take our picture" in Chinese...we need pics of the two of you together.
ReplyDeleteYou get used to pointing at menus after awhile. When I get back to the US this summer I will probably still be pointing out of habit and pronuncing coke KeLe.
ReplyDeleteI've got to tell yall what happened. Funny story! I was getting ready for work and praying for yall. I was almost done and I said, "God, I just want a phone call, just one call." The next SECOND my cell phone rang and it was YALL! Answered, no one on the other end. I was yelling into the phone like that was going to help. Got your voicemail though. I was so upset and I started crying. I could hear God saying, "Well, Allison, you got your phone call!" I started laughing and realized my prayer had been answered. SO glad He has a sense of humor. I'm still disappointed I missed your phone call. But it's ok. I love you guys. And miss you like crazy! 13 more days!
ReplyDeleteHey Rozanne, make sure you keep Clifton on his tether. That's all we need, Clifton roaming the streets of Beijing asking for directions.
